An AK drums shell restoration is qouted in Mike Curotto's new book:
Talking about the restoration of a 4x15 C.G.Conn Black Beauty Mr. Curotto says:
..."the shell was sent to Adrian Kirchler of AK Drums in Italy, who did an expert job of re-blackening it.
The bonus was that Mr. Kirchler was able to preserve the original engraving by not having to re-etch it.
.... This Instrument serves as an example of how a drum can be brought back to life."
This book is a REAL JEWEL!
!!Best photography and an outstanding view into a world class collection of the rarest snaredrums on earth!!
